Effective immediately, Endian shall start implementing rolling releases for all major platforms (UTM, Switchboard, Community) and as such shall adopt the following releasing naming guidelines.
Release Naming Template
Endian generally follows the rules of semantic versioning which are as follows:
- Major Version Number: This indicates a major software release which indicates a planned (typically long-term) new version of the product which will include major and many minor new/updated features along with miscellaneous bug-fixes and patches
- Minor Version Number: This indicates a minor software release which has new/updated features and/or miscellaneous bug-fixes and patches and is part of the roadmap
- Bug-Fixes / Patches: This is typically a release that only contains bug-fixes, patches or critical security fixes
